Rollups need to publish transaction data to ensure the chain’s state is verifiable and remains valid. The traditional approach is to publish data directly to Ethereum’s Layer 1, but this approach is costly and has scalability limitations. By adopting an independent data availability layer (DA Layer) rather than relying entirely on Ethereum Layer 1, Rollup can reduce costs while improving performance, expanding the application space, and enabling blockchain to achieve scalable development while balancing security and decentralization.
